This soil was a weak soft soil as it is sludge from water treatment plants

This soil was a weak soft soil as it is sludge from water treatment plants. Also, due to the air dry in the tanks of water treatments plants, soil was available as blocks. Therefore, these soils had to be crushed. Otherwise they could not be used for the experiments. Therefore, after crushing the soil, the hydrometer test was carried out after verifying that there was no gravel in the sample.
Plasticity Characteristics of the soil was carried out using Atterberg limit test. Liquid limit was carried out by using “Casagrande’s Apparatus” and Plastic limit was obtained by rolling the soil with palms until cracks were appeared after that measure the moisture content. Plasticity Index was calculated using Liquid Limit and Plastic Limit (ASTM D 4318-83).
Specific gravity and organic content also were calculated according to ASTM D 854-83. Then, soil was classified according to the Unified Soil Classification System.
