The western front was the biggest war during the first world war 1 440 mile line which went from the Swiss border south to the North Sea. They first began with the germans, invading them in belgium on 1914. France then violated belgium this making an opening of great britain and their allies into the war. The western front spent four years trying to gain advanged from both sides. Both allied and central powers never made progress to win victory. During this time the western front had a trench warfare, this was where chemical weapons, tank battles, and aerial combat took place. By 1918 the western front finally won.
