In the song “Dear Mr. President,” sung by Pink, it was a question in a song form to the president regarding on how the people were living in a poor condition but no one helped them. The government basically forgot about the poor people and they were mostly supporting the rich people (the wealthy one’s). Not only the poor people, even the middle class people were forgotten. She wrote “Dear Mr. President” to express her feelings towards him and how he really didn’t care about the middle class and poor people.
“What kind of father would take his own daughter’s rights away? And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay?” In this part of the song lyric we can see that not only the poor and middle class people were forgotten but it also show how homosexual people didn’t have equal rights as the regular citizens. It also shows the lack of compassion that the president had for the people.
